SCATS Controller

The SCATS Controller is a solid-state lamp switching and LED driven firmware. The Mean Time Between Failure (MTDF) value is at least 78,000hrs and have obtained the RMS TRAFF license. It is capable of controlling 16 veh/ped signal group output and 32 vehicle detectors/push button inputs.

LED Traffic Lanterns

LED Traffic Lanterns consist of an optical assembly with transparent and waterproof protective flat front cover. The LED array is mounted on high quality printed circuit board and has weatherproof back housing to protect the wiring connectors and terminals.

Bicycle Aspect has an LED array of ‘Bicycle Symbol’ mounted on a high-quality printed circuit front cover. This bicycle aspect facilitates safe crossing of cyclists at intersections of cycling paths and carriageways.

Traffic Signal Head

Traffic Signal Head is a screw-locking aspect housing with ingress protection of IP54. It includes alloy brackets and gasket to hold the LED traffic lanterns.

Intelligent Road Studs (IRS)

The IRS system alerts vehicles along the carriageway by emitting high intensity LED lights. The IRS product is scratchproof, waterproof and shockproof with ingress protection IP68. It withstands a 20-ton load.

Integrated Pedestrian Countdown (IPC)

The IPC consists of the LED array forming a countdown display of 2 digits with the ‘Red Man’. Countdown indicator with the ‘Red Man’ optical assembly starts its counting sequence once the flashing ‘Green Man’ commences. An additional 2 digit counter flashing with the ‘Green Man’ is
programmable.

Push Button/Audio Tactile Unit

Push Button is a stainless steel circular pedestrian push button unit with embossed direction arrow incorporated with LED indicator. It is encased in vandal resistant, corrosion free metallic housing. The push button allows the pedestrian to activate the ‘Green Man’ phase of the traffic system on demand. This allows the traffic junction to optimise the timing for both the pedestrians and the vehicles.

Audio Tactile Unit generates audio and vibrating control signals to drive the transducer located at the push button unit. The ‘locating tone’ and ‘crossing tone’ assist pedestrians with sight impairment to cross the road safely.

Green Man +

The Green Man + is an additional system which enhances the IPC and push button/audio tactile unit. It sends 2 separate command signals to the controller to activate both extended ‘Green Man’ timing and audio tactile equipment. It increases the ‘Green Man’ timing when a pedestrian places an ID specific card onto the reader. The Green Man + gives the pedestrian more time to cross the road safely.

Pedestrian Detection Camera

The Pedestrian Detection Camera delivers robust recognition of pedestrians within the configured zone. It is equipped with volumetric capability for accurate monitoring of the level of pedestrian occupancy in the wait zone. This allows the camera to call for demands to activate the ‘Green Man’ for the pedestrians to cross the road safely and promptly.

Bus Priority Equipment

The Bus Priority Equipment is a tracking unit incorporating geospatial positioning capabilities, which provides regular updates on vehicle location, speed, direction etc. Through a versatile multi-user package, it enables a predictive travel time and collects traffic network performance data. The data is then used to formulate strategies to boost efficiency of the public’s travels.
